Data Migration specialist

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience (over 5 years) in data migration roles
• Strong technical expertise in databases, and data integration and data migration tools.
• Experience with ETL tools for extracting data from SQL databases.
• Strong ability to write SQL scripts.
• Proficiency in performing data extraction, transformation, cleansing, validation, file uploads, and data loading to SAP.
• Experience in data migration within S4HANA or other ERP systems.
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, or Shell scripting for data manipulation and automation.
• Knowledge of data modelling, data quality, and master data management principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
• Experience migrating data between on-premise and cloud systems.
• Experience with ERP, CRM, or enterprise data migration projects (e.g., SAP, Salesforce, Dynamics).
• Project management or Agile delivery experience.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement end-to-end data migration strategies and plans.
• Conduct detailed data assessments, mapping, and transformation analysis.
• Validate migrated data to ensure completeness, accuracy, and integrity.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to define migration scope, timelines, and quality standards.
• Identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and issues in the migration process.
• Develop scripts, automation, and documentation to streamline migration activities.
• Support data cleansing, reconciliation, and post-migration verification.
• Provide migration progress reports and communicate status to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy policies.
